We're coming up on some of the last days in our Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Program for this group of students. Instructor Lonnie O'Bryant likes to have a few class pictures snapped from time to time, and this morning was one of those times! Here's a look at the class, some one on one instruction, and our fleet of trucks used for training. You can complete our CDL program in about 4 weeks! Recently, James Peterson with Advanced Technologies Consultants, demonstrated a Universal Robots scale model interactive training cobot, to our Electronics, Industrial Maintenance, Ammonia Refrigeration and IT/IS students. Students were given an opportunity to interact with, program and control the cobot and modular peripheral equipment to simulate multiple real world industrial applications. All of our program instructors attended with their students. So what is a cobot? It's a collaborative robot. It's a robot that is designed to work safely alongside humans in a shared workspace. Cobots are often used to perform repetitive tasks, freeing up humans to focus on more important work.
