• MIG - MIG welding is a common welding process for beginners. The MIG process enables the home-hobbyist, artist, farmer/rancher, motorsports enthusiast or DIY welder to make most types of fabrication and maintenance/repair welds. Most people can become competent MIG welders by following some basic advice.

• Stick - While it may not be as easy as MIG welding for a beginner, it's definitely not as hard as TIG welding. Stick welding is a good middle ground.
